Virtual Wayfarer

23rd September to 29th September

‘Virtual Wayfarer’ is a virtual tour that we give every year on the occasion of World Tourism Day. In this 4 day event we gave participants or the passengers a virtual tour of places like Venice, Amsterdam, Los Angeles and Bali. We set sail on our cruise ship, ‘Rotanic’ on 23rd September. We showed them the places with the help of the street view option available on Google Earth. The passengers were shown the tourist attractions and cuisines of the places. Towards the end, we took them to a hotel in a virtual manner and then gave them a day's rest. We tried to make the travelling experience as realistic as possible by issuing virtual tickets for the passengers which in turn ensured

an amazing participation.

Respect Your Tricolour

13th August to 15th August

On the auspicious occasion of 75th Independence Day, we conducted ‘Respect Your Tricolour’ and carried out a special cultural programme for the cancer patients at Ashok Singhal Rugna Seva Sadan, Sion. We conducted a pre-event for the same where we distributed eco-friendly paper flags. These paper flags contain seeds and after disposal grow into plants. This helped us create awareness about plastic waste, and the need to protect our environment. The event also got featured in newspapers ‘Mumbai Halchal’ & ‘The Morning Bell’. An after-movie was uploaded on our social media handles to provide a recap of the heart and soul that went into this graceful initiative.

World Population Day

11th July

World Population Day is celebrated every year on 11th July. To spread awareness about overpopulation, we chose a topic the society is not permissive about, which was ‘Safe Sex & Sex Education’. The session was taken by Dr. Sudeshna Ray (MD MRCOG – London) who gave us a gist on sexually transmitted diseases, why they occur and the precautions that should be taken. We also posted a video on our social media, with the theme ‘Insaniyat’, wherein we explained the irony of humans and humanity. This event helped the youth talk about population and the dilemmas regarding it.

Astitva - Ek Pehchaan

‘Astitva - Ek Pehchaan’ is a legacy project which has been organized for over 5 years with a motive to give specially abled individuals a platform to showcase their abilities and various hidden talents through activities organized. This event was in collaboration with 4 NGOs namely, Om Creations Trust, National Institute for the Blind, Aured Charitable Trust and Advitya Foundation. This year the project began with a Flash Mob at C.S.M.T. station and it was covered by a News Channel named 'Mumbai Metro'.

Later activities like Learn through Sports - wherein various sports like sitting volleyball, dodgeball, blind cricket and boccia(sport played at paralympics) were taught to them, Literature Fest - where basics of communication were taught to them, Open Mic - a platform where they could express their thoughts in the form of poetries, stories, essays, speeches, etc and lastly Placement Cell an ongoing initiative to provide them with the jobs they needed and get recognized for their efforts, were all executed for the same. Our aim was to enjoy a week full of learnings and activities, which were a success in the end.

Beyond the Limits 8.0

Heard about Roadies and Spitzvilla? Well, the Team Club Service of RC LALAS had something better than that. Amongst one of our best and most awaited flagship events, 'Beyond the Limits 8.O' a.k.a B.T.L. 8.O took place from 27th November to 30th November in a beautiful cottage at Alibaug. Theme for this edition was - Break Free. The participants had to compete with each other and do tasks that were challenging in all aspects. From breaking a stone to solving the most difficult math equation and from making a 3 course meal to drinking weird juices, the participants had it all. While the participants were being tested, the O.C. team along with helping out chairpersons were having fun too.

The night time used to be either singing songs with drums and guitars or sharing spooky horror stories with lights off, playing cricket, having delicious food, doing a DJ party, and whatnot! And this was just a glimpse of never ending joy. Call it fun or thrill, but this event goes into memories of each and every person who takes part in it.

Christmas Culture

It's Christmas and having a party is a must, but unlike any other Christmas parties, this was a bit unique and heartwarming. In collaboration with Om Creations Trust, an organization that works for specially abled kids, we organized a Christmas party for them where we played games, along with dancing, singing and a lot more fun-filled activities.

We gave them a feeling of snowfall by placing small pieces of cotton on the fan and turning it on with Christmas carols playing in the background. The smile and joy that they had on their faces could make anyone happy. At the end, the specially abled kids declared people from Rclalas as their friends of 'JOY', which was heartwarming for all of us.

Snaphunt

A treasure hunt but with a DigiCom twist. ‘Snaphunt’ is an event that includes nerve thrilling tasks with the help of the thing that kept us alive last year, Social Media. The event was conducted at Girgaon Chowpatty. Participants were divided into teams and then the teams were sent on a hunt while solving multiple tasks.

Tasks included following social media handles of the club, making reels and uploading stories etc. The activities too were not given in a direct manner, they were riddles which participants had to guess. If they didn't do it right, then they wouldn't get the next task. It was one of the best and most mind blowing treasure hunts that everyone witnessed.

Garbotsav

It was Navratri time and we all knew what was the need of the hour. Everyone was awaiting to say 'Aye Halo' to play Garba and rock the stage. Phoenix Dance studio near Deonar was booked on 20th October and every one was ready, eager and pumped up.

And is it even possible that everyone was dressed up with heavy traditional clothes and didn't shoot a reel together? The answer is already known on our Instagram page.

Under this event, the club focused on donating old garments collected with the help of club members to the underprivileged population.

It was a mini-mall for the underprivileged people in different slum areas of the city. It was conducted at 2 localities, Wadala Station and Vidyavihar Station where we displayed more than 3000 garments. The crowd was happy to get a chance to select clothes for themselves.

Cultural Mukbang

The event Cultural Mukbang was all about the exchange of cultures within the members of the club who are from different states of India. The members were dressed according to their culture and brought food items of their respective culture. Each member gave an introduction about their culture i.e about their culture's speciality, habits, story about how their culture was introduced in India, etc. They also gave a gist about the food they had brought.

The members then performed a ramp walk where two cultures came together symbolising harmony and the vast cultural diversity of India. The event was wrapped up with a buffet of the variety of food items brought and dancing.
