PROJECTS
WEvolve: RCC Support Group
‘WEvolve’ is a year-long initiative by HRD avenue of Rotaract Club of Churchgate aimed at providing a safe space for people to communicate, share their stories, vent and seek professional help. With this initiative, we have a vision of breaking stigmas associated with mental health and destabilizing the taboos associated with seeking emotional and mental support.
WEvolve has created an Instagram page (username: rccsupportgroup) where we take a theme each week associated with mental health and put up posts and stories spreading positivity and encouraging people to talk about it. We have our communication channels across various social media platforms like WhatsApp, Telegram, Clubhouse, where we have open-ended discussions. We also conduct activities related to Mental Health every Wednesday and an online session by a mental health professional across these channels. We collaborated with organizations for providing professional counselling services. In the upcoming quarters, we plan to provide internship opportunities and introduce new aspects to WEvolve.
Quarter 1
Social Media: Across All Ages
Partners-In-Service avenue of the Rotaract Club of Churchgate conducted the first phase of the quarterly initiative, ‘Social Media: Across All Ages’. The event aims to enlighten Rotarians on how to use popular social media apps. From downloading the app to creating an account and the various functions it has to offer. Every small feature of the app is explained through written steps, screen recordings and pictures. The first phase of it was conducted on September 11th and the apps chosen were Facebook and Instagram.
Masked Hunters
The Rotaract Club of Churchgate under Club Service avenue conducted ‘Masked Hunters', an online fun team-based scavenger hunt with a twist. Participants solved riddles and engaged in a heated rapid fire round. Winners received sponsor coupons, Amazon gift cards and E-certificates.
ED Ki SeEDi
The Entrepreneurship Development avenue of the Rotaract Club of Churchgate conducted ‘ED Ki SeEDi’, a fun interactive activity related to the entrepreneurial world to test and expand our participants' knowledge. This activity consisted of four rounds. The first two rounds were based on a question and answer quiz. The third and fourth round was based on a guessing game. Wherein participants had to guess the brands based on images of brand ambassadors in ad campaigns, followed by some brand logos.
RCC’s Racing League
The Rotaract Club of Churchgate in collaboration with IR Esports held an online week-long racing tournament. The track was specifically designed for this tournament. A leaderboard was maintained which allowed participants to keep track of their competitors. Participants enjoyed competing with each other and raced to get their names at top of the leaderboard.
Quarter 3
Intern with WEvolve
WEvolve took a step forward in expanding its family and getting more people to work with in order to contribute to our vision of spreading mental health awareness and destabilizing the taboos associated with seeking mental and emotional support. We have and are taking in interns for graphic designing, content creation, managing PR and social media handles, performers and event managers.
All interns receive a letter of appointment and introductory stories. Post internship duration, interns are provided with a certificate of completion and LOR.
Journaling for Mental Health
We conducted a session talking about the importance of journaling and expressing one’s emotions for the benefit of an individual’s mental and emotional well-being.
Rtr. Ayushi Jain was the guest speaker where she introduced the concept of journaling and its types, including steps to start from scratch and the benefits of journaling. She even provided the participants with prompts for journaling, in case they find it difficult to start with.
Emotional
Intelligence
Another session was conducted on Emotional Intelligence where our guest speaker, Ms. Uttara Shah (founder of YOUnique Mental Health) enlightened the audience about EQ and its difference from IQ.
Amongst other things she talked about characteristics and the ways one can increase their EQ. She made the session interesting by conducting an activity that motivated the participants to think and act towards self-awareness.
Pass It On!
In this activity, we asked the participants to fill a google form with a positive quote/message/affirmation. Which then would be sent by us anonymously to people.
It helped us spread smiles, positivity and cheer up people and the participants would become the reason for someone’s smile. If the participants wished for us to send the same to their acquaintances, that option was kept open too
Within Mind
Within Mind is an e-bulletin with the theme of mental health. It aims to break the stigmas associated with mental health by providing a platform to people who wish to express their views on Mental Health.
